Thank you Duane for adding The Artist's Blog to our website. I hope our members will participate in this form of communication so that we may all come to know a little more about each other.

Joy Fairbanks received an award at the IAA show which opened at the IUP museum...."Block Party" a collage. Along with the IAA show is the Pattison exhibit curated by Myron Tomb. There is a nice printed magazine type brochure telling about the pieces. While reading it I noted that she had a strong connection to the Allied Artists so many may remember her and want to see the show. She was active there in the 50's. The show is quite nice and unusual. It will be at the museum until Aug. 4th. You can pull up IUP museum for hrs. , but usually open everyday but Monday. joy

I wanted to say how much I appreciated the comments of the judge for the Winter Show. It is very true that each person judging is as unique in their approach as each creating artist. It is good advice to those who are disappointed when they don't get an award. Being juried into a show and having an exhibit space is an honor. It is good for all of us to see quality work so we continue to improve and move in new directions. Very sorry the weather was so bad for the opening of the show. I know a lot of people could not attend. joy

I was contacting you because of a painting that was found at my mothers home. We have done as much research as ametures can and come to believe that we have a painting by Josephine Paul. While researching we found that she was active in your organization. Therefore, this is why we are calling upon your help to get anymore information that we can. As little is found about her or her work. We saw that she was a painter, sculptor and seamstress and would love to know much more about her and her mysterious life as an artist. We do have a photo of the work. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. My email is kimberlyareading@gmail.com. Thank you for your time.
