Allied Artists of Johnstown

Dear Member,
As this strange, wet fall transitions to winter, we are busy tying up loose ends and planning for 2019.
Our “Vision and Movement “collaboration with the Johnstown Concert Ballet was a wonderfully
successful afternoon, and Marianne and Judi and their large committee of enthusiastic
volunteers deserve a huge “thank-you” for all their hard work. These special events really
keep us involved in Johnstown’s arts community!
We also made our “Friends of Art” presentation of a work of art from our Annual Exhibition.
This year’s recipient is the Veterans’ Outreach Center, located in Richland. They chose Bob Wertz’s
enigmatic photo, “The Stories It Could Tell”, which I’m sure the veterans will enjoy. Our Annual Exhibition is
still up at Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center for a few more weeks, so if you haven’t seen it, be sure to get
there soon.
Our slate of officers and committee chairs for 2019 is listed below. Even without a Summer Show, there’s
still plenty going on with our Spring Show and 87th Annual. We also plan to update our member directory this
year, and I hear rumors of other possible projects or events, so when your 2019 dues statement arrives,
please check some boxes on the volunteer card and let us know we can count on you to help.
Kathleen Burk, President
